has an
extensive inter-disciplinary background in
product development and marketing mainly in
healthcare related companies. He served, among
other capacities, as a
business and technological advisor
at several Israeli high-tech companies.
From 1983-7 he was the President & CEO of
Cardiac Care Units, Israel, responsible for the
development, production and marketing of a
digital cardiac heart monitor. From 1980-3 he
was the Director of Systems Development at
Capintec, New Jersey, USA, where he developed
a multi-modality medical image processing
system (PACS),
from
1975-80 he served as Product and Project manager at ELSCINT in Israel and
in England and from 1973-5 he served as Senior
System Analyst at the European Space Agency in
Germany and at ESTEC in Holland, where he
developed and implemented the imaging parts of
a meteorological satellite - the METEOSAT.
Dr. Ram holds a
Ph.D. in
Medical Physics/Imaging from the British
Council for National Academic Awards, the Royal Postgraduate
Medical
School,
Hammersmith and the Polytechnic of Central
London, England, M.Sc. in Computer Sciences
from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel
and B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics from
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
His credentials
include over dozen publications and research
works published in international professional
journals. In 1975 IPA - the
Information Processing Association of Israel
awarded him the first prize for the best
scientific publication. In 2006 he was elected by the US-Israel Science and
Technology Foundation (USISTF), under their
Technology Excellence Fellowship Program and
spent few months at The Keck Center for
Collaborative Neuroscience at Rutgers
University, New Jersey, USA, where he
performed a research related to spinal cord
injury.
